I recently went to an author's fair. There was a book there called Fair is Fair written by Sonny Varela and illustrated by Peter Mahr. In this story, a hare, a giraffe, and an elephant are talking about how much the zoo keeper loves them. They discover that she gives them each different amounts of hay. And of course, that's not fair.

 

This story would be great to use in a classroom. It shows that everyone is different and even though they don't get the same thing, they get exactly what they need.
